Næstved is on of the oldest towns of the country and was once one of the largest Danish towns in the Middle Ages. Today the city of Næstved has approximately 42,000 inhabitants making it one of the larger Danish provincial towns.
The city of Næstved has several shopping streets full of atmosphere with specialist shops and a square where markets are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
